I still have the video tape of when my older Brother (Andy Brown) was kicked off for heckling Wally George about this comb over mullet hairdo during the Audience Q&A (I knew it was all a schtick - most people did, but we <3 'd it) ... The closest Talk Show host who copied Wally George in every way possible (except he Chained Smoke, was less political, & had a potty mouth) was Morton Downey Jr (who also got his start in Radio) ... My favorite episode of HOT SEAT was when The Mentors were on (& singer / drummer El Duce got into with Wally George) which encouraged El Duce to start his own show live from the Cathay De Grande in Hollywood called COLD SEAT (where he heckled people over the phone)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xcZ5sGsINg

C J BROWNdarkamorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10411404669194687565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6523347757486410855.post-30326580462941610032012-10-07T22:11:25.679-07:002012-10-07T22:11:25.679-07:00I was told that Wally hated doing the Mayor Sam Yo...I was told that Wally hated doing the Mayor Sam Yorty Show and hated doing HOT SEAT, but it paid the bills. He really wanted to be a professional singer and actor, NOT A SIDE SHOW, but in HOLLYWOOD people will do anything to get noticed.tony dragnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01021025207539814647noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6523347757486410855.post-44868303000106428312012-09-03T22:02:59.613-07:002012-09-03T22:02:59.613-07:00I have the dubious honor of having a letter sent t...I have the dubious honor of having a letter sent to Mr. George read on the air by him back in the 80s - ironic considering my current political leanings!Chris Merritthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12759410855891198273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6523347757486410855.post-37803284065567920412012-09-01T11:12:33.748-07:002012-09-01T11:12:33.748-07:00Thanks Chris. One of my fondest memories is running into him at a supermarket in Garden Grove.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
